Boost and transform your laptop like MacBook

Make your laptop as fast as MacBook | Install an SSD in your Laptop

In our new generation and our busy lives, we want the fastest storage device that beat our traditional storage device that is HDD(Hard Disk Drives).Solid State Drives or SSD is about 10 times faster than the HDD. SSD is more faster, more efficient, and far more durable data storage overall. If you're building a system with speed, power needs, or portability in mind, then an SSD is going to be the better choice, meaning that your operating system, applications, and games will start much faster and your system will feel really snappy in general.

Like a memory stick, there are no moving parts to an SSD. Rather, information is stored in microchips. Conversely, a hard disk drive uses a mechanical arm with a read/write head to move around and read information from the right location on a storage platter. This difference is what makes SSD so much faster.

To make your laptop as fast as MacBook you have to do the following things:

Step 1: Prerequisites and Drive Cloning

To upgrade the hard drive on your laptop to a speedy SSD while keeping your Windows installation intact are a small screwdriver and an app for cloning your hard drive's contents onto the new drive.
To get your existing data over to the new SSD drive you also need an external USB hard drive case.
Perform the following steps at your own risk. In some rare cases, swapping out the drive on your own voids the warranty, so check up on that also.

Cloning Your Hard Drive

If you want to transfer your existing operating system and all your files to the new drive (without reinstalling Windows), the first thing you need to do is clone the hard drive or do a new windows installation.

This could be a problem. If your hard drive has a larger capacity than the SSD and the data on it exceeds what the SSD can store you will have to backup parts of the drive's contents before you clone the drive.

When this potential problem has been solved you need to insert your new SSD into an external USB hard drive enclosure. These are available in just about every store that sells computer peripherals for about $20. Inserting the drive in the enclosure is very easy using the aforementioned screwdriver. A simple manual on how to do this should also be provided with the enclosure.

Once the drive is hooked up to your computer you will need special software to make an exact copy of your hard drive to the SSD.

EaseUS Todo Backup offers drive cloning as part of the free version. It can be downloaded here.

Once installed, click the "Clone" button in the application, which brings up a handy wizard for drive cloning. After selecting the source drive, remember to tick the box "Optimize for SSD".

Step 2: Swapping the Drives

Once the drive cloning procedure complete, it's time to upgrade your laptop with your new SSD.

All laptops have a slightly different layout, so kindly use safety measures to open your existing hard disk. Remove the HDD and place your SSD on the same position. The SSD is very costly so you can purchase only of about 250GB.

If you would like to use your existing HDD for more storage space you can use this HDD in place of your DVD drives. As of now we always use external storage devices such as pendrive or external HDD for backup your data. Nobody uses our traditional DVD or CD to store the data. So you can place your existing HDD in the place of DVD drives.

Step 3: The Final Test

The first thing you'll notice is that the computer boost up much faster than before, and as soon as you hit the Windows desktop you will also notice that all of your applications and games take a fraction of the time to load.

By now you should have a considerably faster and more responsive system. If anything is doubt in this tutorial, don't hesitate to point it out in the comments below.
