ISRO successfully launched the GSAT-6A Satellite

On Thursday, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) successfully launched the GSAT-6A satellite from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 4.56 PM.

GSLV-Mk-II (F08) carrying GSAT-6A satellite took off from the second launch pad in Sriharikota.



ISRO made two improvements this time in rocket's second stage. It includes induction of high thrust Vikas engine and electromechanical actuation system.

A key feature of GSAT-6A satellite is provide mobile communication to India through multi beam coverage facility. It will also provide a platform for developing technologies such as network management techniques that could be useful in satellite based mobile communication applications.
