Walmart expands home deliveries in US to rival Amazon


Walmart is planning to expand its grocery home delivery services to more than 100 metro areas this year from an existing six cities.

Deliveries will cost $9.95 with a minimum order of $30 and companies like Uber will provide transport.

This move allows Walmart to compete with Amazon's two-hour Prime Now service for shoppers of its loyalty program.


Google tests Flying taxis in New Zealand


Self-piloted flying taxis are being tested in New Zealand as part of a project started by Google co-founder Larry Page.

Supporters are predicting that this will revolutionise personal transport.

On Tuesday, New Zealand approved plans for Zephyr Airworks which is a subsidiary of Page's company Kitty Hawk, to develop and test the futuristic air taxis.

The electric aircraft which is known as Cora, has a dozen lift fans on its wings, making it capable of vertical take-off and landing like a helicopter.


Amazon India and Hackathon collaborated for Alexa hackathon


Alexa Hackathon is aimed at building more engaging skills for Alexa, which is the Cloud-based voice assistant, including Amazon Echo.

On Wednesday, Amazon India announced a partnership with HackerEarth, which is a Bengaluru-based talent management start-up for its first virtual Artificial Intelligence (AI) hackathon for Alexa in the country.

Alexa Hackathon will encourage developers to think outside of the traditional application development approach and embrace a voice-first design approach.


Navi Mumbai has fastest 4G Speeds while Allahabad has lowest 4G Speed in India


According to wireless coverage mapping company OpenSignal, Navi Mumbai is on the top spot from Mumbai in terms of 4G LTE download speeds.

OpenSignal which tracked average 4G download speeds among 20 of India's largest cities between December and February found, Navi Mumbai has registered average 4G speeds of 8.72Mbps. Chennai, placed in the second spot, saw its 4G speeds nearly double, rising to 8.52Mbps from 4.4Mbps registered in March last year.At the other end, Allahabad was the only major city to register less than 4Mbps, as it recorded an average speed of just 3.5Mbps.

Kolkata is on third spot with average 4G download speeds of 8.46Mbps while Bengaluru secured the fourth place with average 4G download speeds of 7.17Mbps.
