British Billionaire Sanjeev Gupta is planning to build world's biggest lithium ion battery to beat tesla


British billionaire Sanjeev Gupta is planning to build the world's biggest lithium ion battery in South Australia.

The planned 120 megawatts (MW)/140 megawatt hours (MWh) storage capacity of Gupta's Liberty House is larger than that of the current record holder built by Elon Musk's Tesla in South Australia which has a capacity of 100MW/129MWh.

This will accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to renewables and will lower the bills for South Australians.


NIT-K Researchers developed Lighweight filament for 3D Printing


Researchers at NIT-K, Surathkal in collaboration with New York University, USA have developed a syntactic foam filament that can be used in commercial 3D printers for printing lightweight components.

The research is done as collaborative efforts between two team, Mrityunjay Doddamani from mechanical engineering department of National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal and Nikhil Gupta of New York University, Tandon School of Engineering (NYU), USA.

The new syntactic foam filament is made from high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic filled with ceramic hollow particles.


Plattsburgh city bans the cryptocurrency mining and became the first city in the US to ban


Plattsburgh has become the first city in the US to ban cryptocurrency mining for next 18 months.

The city has the cheapest rates of electricity in the world which allows the cryptocurrency miners to use it as a base as their profits rely on cheap electricity and mining takes up an large amount of energy.

Apple India has partnered with ICICI Bank to offer cashback on its iPhones, iPads, MacBook and the Apple Watch.

Buyers will receive a cashback of upto Rs.10,000 with the purchase of these products.

The offer is applicable only on transactions made on EMI using an ICICI credit card, and is valid from 12th March, 2018 to 15th April, 2018.

The cashback offer is valid only for offline purchases using credit cards at Pinelabs/ Plutus POS terminal machines or payment gateways.
