Driverless Cars testing without backup drivers in California


Driverless cars will be tested on the roads of California for the first time without a backup driver under new rules for the fast-developing technology.

Until now, driverless cars could only be tested with human backup drivers who could take over in an emergency.

The rules approved by California's Office of Administrative Law create the framework under which consumers can buy driverless cars.


Amazon opens 15 Warehouses for Amazon Now in 4 cities


Amazon opened the 15 new centres to create a specialised network for its Amazon Now hyperlocal grocery delivery business.

The new centres are based in the four cities where Amazon Now is currently available which includes Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

Amazon’s overall warehousing capacity has now increased to 56 fulfilment centres (FCs) across 13 states with a total storage space of 13.5 million cubic feet.


Google collaborated with OEMs to bring AR Service to China


Google has partnered with three Chinese Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to bring Augmented Reality (AR) service to China.

Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung all have signed on to release devices that will include ARCore support but Most Google services in China do not work.

ARCore works on device itself without the Cloud. Once apps are downloaded to a phone, there is nothing that China's internet censors can do to disrupt them.


Apple is using Google Servers to store iCloud Data


For the first time, Apple has given an acknowledgement that it is relying on Google's public cloud for data storage for its iCloud services.

The latest iOS Security document gives a detailed explanation of the technology choices Apple makes to keep its users from getting hacked. The company also disclosed it's using Google's cloud computing infrastructure along with Amazon S3 to store iCloud data such as photos, files and data backup.
