On Wednesday, Facebook has launched WhatsApp Business standalone app in an effort to make business communication with customers who are associated with Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs).
The WhatsApp Business Standalone app was officially announced back in September, last year and then tested with the Businesses like BookMyShow and MakeMyTrip and now officially available on Google Play store to download in Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Mexico and the United States. The Business Standalone app will be rolled out soon across the world which includes India too. It will be available at Android only at the time of launch but will be available soon to iPhone users also.
The WhatsApp Business app is developed and created to make easier for small companies to connect with their customers. Along with it, Business app provides features like it will help in providing important information which includes a business description, store addresses, website information and more.
It will also come with smart messaging tools which includes quick-replies that provide the fast answers to the frequently asked questions(FAQs), greeting messages that introduce the customers to business and away messages that let know the customers that you're busy.
WhatsApp said in a statement, "People will know that they are talking to a business because you will be listed as a Business Account. Once the account phone number matches with the business phone number, Businesses will have confirmed accounts".
The app is free for now, but will be monetised in future.
