According to the reports from The Independent, the developers have rolled out a beta update that introduces a new video call switch button.

When a user is in the middle of a WhatsApp voice call, pressing the new switch button will send the request to the person you're talking to, asking if they want to switch from voice to video. If they accept the request, the call will switch from voice to video but if they decline, call will continue to voice call.

The company says that the new feature is currently available to users who have signed up to the beta version of  WhatsApp, the testing platform for the developers.

WhatsApp will reportedly introduce a calling option on group chats in the near future.
