Jio Plans Updated: Here's What you get extra with Jio Republic Day 2018 Recharge Offer


Jio plans underwent a huge change last week as the Jio provided extra data to users on Jio Republic Day Recharge offer, and introduced a new plan. The changes in Jio plans means that the consumers will get more data and validities for now as compared to previous plans.

Jio Phone users will get a new plan with 28-days validity.

The 1GB data per day plans will now offer 1.5GB data per day daily.

Similarly, plans with 1.5GB data per day will provide 2GB data per day. For more information, click here.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 with 4GB RAM variant goes Official


The Xiaomi Redmi 5 now comes with three variants - 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM along with two internal storage options - 32GB and 64GB. The new Redmi 5 4GB variant comes with the onboard storage of 32GB.

The new Xiaomi Redmi 5 with 4GB RAM variant now comes in China at a price of 1,099 yuan which is roughly equivalent to Rs.11,050. Along with it, The Xiaomi Redmi 5 features an 18:9 display as its biggest USPs.

Other specifications are similar to the previous variants of Redmi 5.

Beware of over 22 fake Reliance Jio Coin Android apps on Play Store


It has only been a few days since news of fake websites selling Jio Coin, a crypto currency reportedly in the works from Reliance, came up. After that, Google's Android Play Store is seeing a flood of apps and all are selling Jio Coin. After finding count of apps, it came to know there were at least 22 apps which had Jio Coin in their name available for download on the Play Store.

Most of these apps have fewer than 1,000 downloads while there are three app which have been downloaded between 1,000 and 5,000 times and two app which have been downloaded between 10,000 and 50,000 times.

The description on the pages of some of these apps claims that they offer Jio Coins in exchange for doing "tasks".

Security experts warn users to stay away from downloading such kind of fake app. Fake apps have traditionally been about mining personal data, but this time the threat could be different. Shomiron Das Gupta who is the founder of cyber security firm NetMonastery said that at least some of these apps could be hiding a new kind of malware, which uses the processing power of your phone to mine crypto currencies in the background.

Google rolls out update for 'Files Go' app with new features


Google's Files Go app, which was unveiled with other 'Go' edition apps and Android 8.0 Oreo (Go Edition), has now been updated with some more new features. The app which was meant to make content management easier in the handsets, now has three more new features which includes support for SD cards, Android tablets and better customisation with other apps.

Files Go app with the new updates supports SD cards as many users use them to backup important files. Until now, the app only showed files stored in handset's memory but now only with one tap in the list or grid view, you can easily see files stored on your SD card.

With new updates, the app now can also runs on Android tablets which makes now more easier to manage storage even on large screen devices.
