Two-Factor Authentication is an additional layer of security which gets added to online accounts to prevent its unauthorized access or logins.
The purpose of Two-Factor Authentication feature is to authenticate the login using the piece of information which get shared by the authenticated user only.
Two-Factor Authentication feature is important for security of online accounts as number of cases of cybercrime, hacking and datatheft are increasing enormously day by day.
To enable Two-Factor Authentication feature on your Gmail account, you need your Gmail account password and the temporary code which will send to your Phone number.
Here are the steps you need to follow to enable the Two-Factor Authentication feature on your Gmail account.
Step 2: Click on the thumbnail of your avatar which is on the top right corner of the page.
Step 3: Click on "My Activity". "My Activity" page provides you an overview of your Google account settings and authorized apps.
Step 4: Under the section "Sign-in & security" on the page, click on the "Get started" which is under the "Security Checkup". "Security Checkup" provides you an overview of all the active sessions and the information about all the devices that you had been logged into before and the Two-Factor Authentication.
Step 5: Click on "Sign-in & recovery". Under "Sign-in & recovery" option, you can add your phone number for Two-Factor Authentication or your email address.
Step 6: Click on "ADD" option in front of Phone number option if you want to enable Two-Factor Authentication on your Phone Number. Click on "ADD" option in front of recovery email option if you want to enable Two-Factor Authentication on your email address.
