Samsung Galaxy S9+ launched in India: Price, Specifications, Pre-Booking, Availability

Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphones Galaxy S9 and S9+ at the Galaxy Unpacked 2018 event ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) event, 2018.

The new flagship smartphones feature improved cameras, Bixby Vision, face recognition and AR Emojis, reduced bezels on the top and bottom, faster processors, and AKG-tuned dual speakers.

The Samsung Galaxy S9+ priced at $839.99 which is roughly equivalent to Rs.54,400 in the US.

Samsung is going to launch this flagship smartphone this March given that Pre-Bookings are open.

Online Option: For the online option, the pre-booking can be done on Samsung e-store starting from Monday by making an initial payment of Rs.2,000. While pre-booking, buyers will have to fill in the required details such as the name, mobile number, email ID, colour of the smartphone etc. Once the pre-booking is done, buyers will receive a notification via SMS/ email from the portal confirming the registration.

After the pre-booking process, Samsung will provide information regarding the balance amount and the dates by when it will have to be paid to receive the smartphone. If the balance amount isn't paid before the due date, the pre-booking amount will be refunded within 7 working days.

Offline Option: Buyers can also but the smartphones at Samsung offline stores. For the Offline Option, Buyers will have to register on the Pre-Book app which will be available at outlets. The same booking amount of Rs.2000 is applicable in this method also.

The Galaxy S9+ sports a 6.2-inch QHD+ Curved Super AMOLED display with aspect ratio of 18.5:9.In US, the new smartphone is powered by the octacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, with four cores clocked at 2.8GHz and four cores clocked at 1.7GHz. In other regions, including India, it will be powered by the Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC, with four cores clocked at 2.7GHz and four cores clocked at 1.7GHz. It is powered by Android 8 Oreo Operating System and sports IP68 water + dust resistance as well.

On the camera side, the Galaxy S9+ sports a dual rear camera setup with dual OIS, specifically a wide-angle lens with Super Speed Dual Pixel 12-megapixel autofocus with aperture of f/1.5 and f/2.4 sensor and a telephoto lens with 12-megapixel autofocus f/2.4 sensor while the new device sports a 8-megapixel autofocus front camera with aperture of f/1.7 sensor



Samsung Galaxy S9+ has 6GB of RAM while the smartphone will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants with support for up to 400GB microSD cards. Connectivity options include Gigabit LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and the 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy S9+ is powered by 3500mAh battery.

In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy S9+ measures 158.1x73.8x8.5mm and weighs 189 grams.
