IBM's Watson Assistant allows any company to build their own voice interfaces similar to Alexa


IBM is launching a new service called Watson Assistant which will aim at companies who are looking to build voice-activated virtual assistants for their own products.

Clients can train their assistants using their own datasets, and it is easier to add relevant actions and commands in comparison to other assistant tech.


Former Israeli spy chief forms a cybersecurity firm with team of more than 30 hackers


Former Israeli spy chief Tamir Pardo has assembled a team of more than 30 hackers from Israel's security and intelligence services into a startup firm called XM Cyber that will keep companies networks safe by imitating how real hackers work.

Tamir Pardo started XM Cyber two years back in year 2016.

He said his company continuously simulates attacks and exposes a network's blind spots.


Airtel to rival Jio is offering a Rs.499 postpaid plan which offers unlimited voice call and 40GB of 4G Data for 30 days


Airtel recently launched a new prepaid plan of Rs.499.

The newly introduced plan offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 40GB 4G/3G data with rollover facility for the validity of 30 days.

Users will also get one year free subscription to Amazon prime along with additional benefits like free access to Wynk Music, Live TV and Music, and Handset Damage Protection.


Google Maps comes with new Shortcut feature for selected Indian users


Google Maps for Android comes with new update which contains a new feature called 'Your Shortcuts'.

A new 'Your shortcut' card on Google Maps home screen is popping up for some users and it allows them to select four options from a total of 14 quick actions.

These quick actions include Foods nearby, Malls nearby, Cinemas nearby, directions to home and work, Metro stations nearby, Bus stations nearby and more.

The new feature is expected to roll out for more users in the coming weeks.
